Third Street Brewhouse’s seasonal brew, Oktoberfest, was recently ranked #2 in Paste Magazine’s top 55 Oktoberfest/Märzen style beers. Other top ranking breweries included Ayinger (Germany), Urban Chestnut (St. Louis, MO), Weihenstephaner (Germany) and Sierra Nevada (Chico, CA).
“We are thrilled that our Oktoberfest has been so well received,” says Jodi Peterson, Sales Manager for Third Street. “To be ranked #2 by Paste Magazine is a huge win for Third Street, but especially for our brewers. The hard work of our brewers really shows with our Oktoberfest.”
Oktoberfest is Third Street’s first foray into authentic German style, and this Oktoberfest shines with a rich malty flavor and a 4.6 ABV, meaning you can let the good times roll all day long. It pairs well with traditional German fare – sausage, brats, bacon and dry-rubbed pork, along with mushrooms, onions and grilled peppers.
With this Oktoberfest, Third Street celebrates the deep German-American roots in Central Minnesota and throughout the Midwest. On Fridays and Saturdays, look for the märzen at the brewery taproom in Cold Spring. Eight-packs of the 16-ounce cans are available at retailers.
Along with its seasonal ales, Third Street has four popular signature brews on tap and in cans: Minnesota Gold, Hop Lift, 3 Way and Lost Brown Trout.
